Plan B Vending Machine
Federal regulators have decided not to take any action against a Pennsylvania university for selling the Plan B "morning-after" pill from a campus vending machine.
Officials at Shippensburg University and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration reviewed the dispensing method for the emergency contraceptive after concerns arose last year over its availability to students. Some critics claimed the vending machine would encourage more students to have sex.
"FDA looked at publicly available information about Shippensburg's vending program and spoke with university and campus health officials and decided not to take any regulatory actions," Erica V. Jefferson, an FDA spokeswoman, said in a statement made available to MSN News.
Plan B is an over-the-counter medication available without prescription for those 17 years old or older at pharmacies and drug stores around the nation. It's meant to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
The vending machine containing Plan B is in a room inside Shippensburg University's health center, which only students and university employees can access. The machine has been in place for about three years, but its existence wasn't widely known until last year, when stories about it hit the national media.
After controversy arose, university officials and others met to discuss the availability of Plan B on campus. Both the Student Senate and the University Forum passed resolutions saying the medication should continue to be dispensed.
Personally I think that if they sell condoms in a vending machine there is no reason why they can't sell other forms of birth control by vending machine. Plus, what better place to sell them than college as that is where young adults may be a little wild!

Words on your @$$
I thought it would be hilarious to make a pair of sweats with words on the @$$ for men. Women always wear them with sexy, sassy, hottie, slut or whatever on them. Why can't men have labels too!
Buy your man a pair today and if you have any ideas for labels I should create - leave them in the comments!

Sorry I'm A Fruitarian
We have all heard of and likely been a party to the crazed diets. Cabbage soup, no carbs, low carbs, calorie counts, shakes, you name it...someone has tried it. How about a diet consisting of fruit, nuts and seeds only?
While researching his part as Steve Jobs, Ashton Kutcher decided to follow Steve's fruitarian diet. This is a very dangerous diet which landed Kutcher in the hospital. "I was like doubled over in pain, and my pancreas levels were completely out of whack, which was completely terrifying, considering everything," said the That 70s Show alum. (Jobs died in October 2011 at age 56 of pancreatic cancer.)
He does however the pain was worth it though he does claim to be a little nervous. He admires Steve Jobs very much and hopes to portray him in a way that will be appreciated by those who also admire Jobs.
I am sure he will do a wonderful job and I appreciate what lengths an actor will go to for a role. I do however worry about the long-term effects of the up and downs that they put their body through.

Incurable Gonorrhea
OK this is so scary and a nasty topic but if you get your updates from my blog, I feel it is my duty to share. Scientists believe that we are about to have a strain of incurable gonorrhea on the rise! Is this the result of too much unprotected sex cases or a super bug developing? The answer may surprise you but it is a result of our overdosing on antibiotics.
I don't know about you but it is typical for your doctor to prescribe you an antibiotic to cure whatever it is you are complaining about. They always tell you to finish the bottle but most of us do not. We are quick to self diagnose and medicate ourselves. And so are our doctors!
We have become immune to our cures and with that comes different strains of viruses that do not have a current antibiotic cure. It is very unnerving to think about but it is true. Think about it the next time you catch a cold! And always have protected sex because condoms are not hard to obtain!

Lance Armstrong's confession
If you haven't heard about Lance Armstrong confessing to Oprah that he did indeed take performance enhancing drugs, you must be on another planet. It is all over the tv, computer, radio! So after many years of complete denial. Even protesting the nerve of his accusers, Lance finally came clean. He left out many details in his interview such as who helped him with the doping and how did he manage to evade a positive drug test for almost a decade.
The most upsetting part of his involvement to me is that he has been the face of testicular cancer. He did fight the battle with cancer and did provide recognition for research. But know all he will be looked at for is this doping scandal.
He has been stripped of his wins and lost his career. What is your opinion on the matter? I think he was selfish to lead people on and come out now! And I have to wonder why now?

2013 Flu
I know that my hump day help is all over the place but I share the things that might help you the way they help me. That being said, the topic today is this damn flu that is going around. I hear it is a bad one and it holds on for some time.
I found a really helpful page on MSN I want to share: http://healthyliving.msn.com/diseases/cold-and-flu/flu-infographic
Please read to help keep yourself and your family healthy.
Here are some simple things you can do to stay healthy
- Wash your hands
- Get your flu shot (can also be administered as a nasal spray)
- Meditate (stress weakens your immune system)
- Exercise regularly
- Stay away from those who are sick (hard to do when they are your children or when they come to work sick)
- Get plenty of rest (at least 7 hours)
- Avoid touching your eyes and nose
- Sneeze into the crook of your arm instead of your hands

70 yr. old man marries 15 yr. old girl
The 70 year old apparently complained after he paid $20,000 the the Girl's family, as some time after their wedding, they took the 15 year old back to her hometown of Al-Hurath Village in Jizan Province. He felt ripped off.
However, human rights authorities believe that the 15 year old girl and the 70 year old man had a fight, and the child bride ran back to her family. Dr. Suhaia Zein Al-Abedin, a member of the Saudi National Association for Human Rights, said, "when you consider the very large difference in age, it looks more like this was not a marriage, but like the girl was sold. The girl's parents need to be held responsible for this."
This is absolutely true. This isn't even a situation where the girl has fallen in love with an older man and wanted to get married. Her parents sold her to him, and that is completely inappropriate!

10 Steps to Getting Organized
I dub this thriving Thursday! As an entrepreneur, you usually are all aspects of your business from the receptionist to the CEO. And in this fast paced world that hopefully leads you to success you must organize your business. This is easier said than done usually however, if you can train yourself to do it your business and life will come easier to you.
Since we are in a new year and are tackling those resolutions, this is one you can and should accomplish!
1. Organize your desk: update your files, replace worn and torn files; color code your filing system to make the task of filing a bit easier; file those papers that have been sitting on your desk for months, label folders, and DO NOT use the title misc for a catch all!
2. Make a list and check it twice: There are so many things that need to be accomplished in a day and something is bound to be missed. Write yourself a task list to use in structuring your day. You may not cross all of the items that list in a day but at least you know where to start the next day.
3. Pick a calendar and stick with it!: I am guilty of this one :-( Find the best calendar for you and use only one. When you have multiple calendars on your tablet, phone, computer, desk - you tend to either put things on one calendar and schedule a conflict on another or you spend more time managing your calendars than managing your business.
4. Plan Ahead: Add to your calendar the items that you need to complete for an event a week before the date. Include your personal lists such as card for mom, gift for husband, etc.
5. List your goals: Make a list of the items you want to accomplish in your lifetime. Update and review it each year to see if you goals have been reached or maybe even changed.
6. Choose a couple of current year goals: It is easier to achieve when you focus on a few steps at a time. Pick one or two goals that you want to meet this year and start working on them.
7. Get rid of clutter: If you have not used an office product in several months - get rid of it! Donate it, return for store credit, whatever you need to do to remove the clutter.
8. Start planning your next tax year: We all tend to scramble at the beginning of the year to gather our tax documents, receipts, P&L Reports and any needed items to file. If you start a box now for next tax year you remove the stress of locating later and chances are you miss things in the scramble that you can prevent if you are prepared.
9. Update your contacts: Whether you have a rolodex, database or contact list in your phone - go through and update. Remove those you do not contact any longer, confirm current information, add new contacts.
10. Feng Shui: Now you may not want to get elaborate with this but definitely make this area have a good flow and some serenity since you spend so much time there!
Well I gotta go.....I have an office to organize!

What does your bedroom toys say about you?
Not all women explore the world of toys but for those of us who do, here is what your choice states about you:
The Rabbit: This woman means business! She enjoys stimulation to the point of too much! When used correctly this toy can put a man to shame with it's multiple vibes and stimulating ears!
Double Stimulation Devices: This woman needs both inner and outer stimulation to get her motor revved up! The combination of clitoral and g-spot activity will send pleasure through your entire body!
The Traditional Vibrator: This woman enjoys a little stimulation to climax. The traditional vibrator can be used to touch the spots that you enjoy the most ...like the clitoris!
So which woman are you? I consider myself flexible on this topic ;-)

What a lil pisser!
Bronson Pelletier, part of Twilight's wolf pack, was arrested last week. He was highly intoxicated and decided to take a leak in the middle of LAX. He denies these "allegations" however it isn't alleged when video exists!
Pelletier, who turns 26 next week, is scheduled to be arraigned on January 7th. Happy Birthday Bronson! I think diapers would make an excellent gift :-)

Diet-Friendly Alcohol Choices
Staying in the same mode as shedding pounds, I wanted to bring to you some wise alcohol choices to maintain your diet. Remember moderation is key because the more you drink the less you think about what you are eating and drinking!
Wine: The Most Diet-Friendly Choice
If you’re going to drink, wine is the most calorie-friendly selection with a typical 20 calories per ounce. Each 5-ounce glass would then be 100 calories with no cholesterol, sodium or fat. This is true for both red and white wine, from merlot to chardonnay. Sherry, a sweet, fortified wine runs a bit higher with 32 calories per ounce but it is usually served in smaller portions as an after-dinner drink.
Wine | Calories | Carbs | Per 5-oz Serving |
Chardonnay | 20 | 0.4 g | 100 calories, 2 g carbs |
Pinot Grigio | 20 | 0.4 g | 100 calories, 2 g carbs |
Zinfandel® White Wine | 20 | 0.4 g | 100 calories, 2 g carbs |
Cabernet Sauvignon | 20 | 0.8 g | 100 calories, 4 g carbs |
Merlot Red Wine | 20 | 0.8 g | 100 calories, 4 g carbs |
Hard Liquor: Easy on Your Diet
Hard liquor is higher in calories per ounce than wine, and is often mixed with soda, which increases the calorie count. If you’re going to drink liquor, use calorie-free mixers like diet soda or diet tonic water. One shot glass or mixed drink will contain about 1.5 ounces of hard liquor.
Hard Liquor | Calories | Carbs | Per 1.5-oz Serving |
Vermouth | 32 | 0.2 g | 64 calories, 0.4 g carbs |
Coconut Rum | 51 | 5.3 g | 77 calories, 8 g carbs |
Beefeater® Gin | 65 | 0 g | 98 calories, 0 g carbs |
Rye Whiskey | 69 | 0 g | 104 calories, 0 g carbs |
Scotch Whiskey | 69 | 0 g | 104 calories, 0 g carbs |
White Rum | 69 | 0 g | 104 calories, 0 g carbs |
Vodka | 69 | 0 g | 104 calories, 0 g carbs |
Cognac | 69 | 2 g | 104 calories, 3 g carbs |
Tequila | 69 | 5.3 g | 104 calories, 8 g carbs |
Gilbey’s® Gin | 79 | 0 g | 119 calories, 0 g carbs |
Beer: Raise Your Glass with Care
Beer is the next best choice for dieters with, about 150 calories per 12-ounce serving. Choosing light beers will drop your caloric intake without sacrificing much flavor, but keep in mind that it can be hard to estimate your intake when pouring from a pitcher or into an oversized beer mug.
Beer | Calories | Carbs | Per 12-oz Serving |
"Light" Beer | 9 | 0.5 g | 108 calories, 6 g carbs |
Draft Beer | 12 | 1.1 g | 144 calories, 13.2 g carbs |
Lager | 14 | 1.1 g | 168 calories, 13.2 g carbs |
Ale | 18 | 1.1 g | 216 calories, 13.2 g carbs |
Liqueur: Small but Potent
Sometimes the words "cordial" and "liqueur" are used interchangeably since both drinks are flavored, very sweet and often served as (or with) dessert. Liqueurs can be served alone, over ice, with coffee, or mixed with cream or other mixers. Adding mixers will increase the calorie and fat content of your drink. Whether served alone or in a cocktail, one liqueur serving is about 1.5 ounces. While tasty, liqueurs pack the most calories per ounce, so enjoy them sparingly.
Liqueur | Calories | Carbs | Per 1.5-oz Serving |
Chocolate Liqueur | 103 | 11 g | 155 calories, 17 g carbs |
Mint Liqueur | 103 | 11 g | 155 calories, 17 g carbs |
Peppermint Liqueur | 103 | 11 g | 155 calories, 17 g carbs |
Strawberry Liqueur | 103 | 11 g | 155 calories, 17 g carbs |

10 Surprising Ways to Shed Pounds
Here are 10 surprising ways to shed those unwanted pounds:
1. Banish hunger. Hunger is the first problem dieters deal with, Roberts says. “Controlling it is a matter of what you eat, how often you eat and watching your calories.” The combination of what, how and when is dynamite for weight control.
To figure out how many calories to eat, Roberts recommends you focus on pounds first.
If you weigh 120-160 pounds, start your diet by eating 1,200 calories per day; 160-200 pounds, 1,600 calories per day; 200-240 pounds, 1,800 calories per day.
For two weeks, spread most of your allotted calories over three 300-400 calorie meals and two 100-200-calorie snacks.
If you lose 6 or more pounds right away, add back 200 calories per day so you don’t get too hungry. Once you reach your desired weight, you can eat more but keep track of calories and pounds, Roberts says.
For a high-fiber cereal, try All Bran (which contains 10 grams of fiber per half cup) or Fiber One (14 grams of fiber per half cup).
Eat lean proteins like white fish, which satisfies hunger better than any other protein food, Roberts says.
For reference, a 200-calorie serving of fish is about the size of a checkbook. Lean, skin-less chicken and vegetables and legumes, like chickpeas, are good sources of protein too. A 200-calorie serving of chicken is the size of a deck of cards.
For your daily dose of dairy, swap out regular yogurt for low-fat Greek yogurt, which is higher in protein.
3. Clear cabinets of the bad stuff.
“If it’s there, you’ll eat it,” Roberts says. “This isn’t just a willpower issue.” Remember, the sight and smell of food triggers metabolic responses that make you hungry.
So throw away cookies and corn chips and put healthy foods like fresh fruit and sliced red peppers, celery and carrots within reach.
“The way you take power out of a stimulus is to change the wanting,” Dr. Kessler says. “Food loaded with fat, sugar and salt is designed to make you want more.”
You have to start saying, I don’t want that food. “That helps you cool down the stimulus.”
By consistently telling yourself that sugary, fatty foods are no good, you lay down new circuitry in your brain that changes how you perceive the alluring food, he says.
5. Set up eating rules.
Tell yourself, No fried foods. I’m going to put half my sandwich in a take-out box. It’s important to set boundaries when temptation tries to muscle in, Dr. Kessler says. But make sure your rules are ones you can follow.
If you think you’re obsessing and craving, stop the debate right away, Dr. Kessler advises, so there’s no room for argument in your mind. Taking this approach means you won't feel deprived because you'll want to follow your own rule, he says.

“Food has to be pleasurable,” Dr. Kessler says, “but you have to control and plan [your cheats].”
So leave room in your diet plan for an occasional treat — a small piece of chocolate or biscotti.
Roberts' advice: Allow 100 calories a day of your favorite food.
Just don't eat that goodie by itself. Roberts suggests “sandwiching” the treat between two low-calorie fillers.
For example, if you’re craving a cookie, have a half cup of strawberries, then eat the cookie, followed by a cup of tea.
“That makes it possible to enjoy the food without having a huge amount,” Dr. Kessler says.
Maybe it's a picture of your slim self on the refrigerator, the new feeling of energy you get from daily walks or the delight that comes with wearing new flattering clothes.
10. Forgive setbacks. Everyone succumbs to temptation sometimes, so don’t beat yourself up for binging on chocolate.
That old brain circuitry is always there despite the patterns you've laid down, Dr. Kessler says.
“If you get stressed or fatigued, it will [reactivate]. That’s normal and human. I go through a handful of chocolate chip cookies every once in a while.”
