There is nothing more life altering than a child. This little miracle that grows inside you. From the moment you feel the butterflies in your tummy ...you are in love! A deeper love than you have ever even fathomed.
You go through the most tremendously painful experience ever to labor this precious child. As you hold them in your arms the pain becomes minimal and you now know that your life is forever changed. You spend the next several months sleep deprived with milk leaking from your breasts. You change more diapers than you can count and sometimes wear what is in the diaper. All this time you smile and ponder what your child will become.
As they grow so do you. The first tooth, first word, first step. And then there is the first day of school where you have more separation anxiety than they do.
They become more independent and less reliant. Their friends become more important and some you don't care for. The "I love you mommy" is replaced by "I hate you and I can't wait to move out." They break your heart but you are doing your job.
They grow up and move into their own. You worry all the time! And then one day they have children of their own and call you for advise. And as their child grows and tested those boundaries, they call you to apologize.
To every mother out there, no matter what stage you are at - please know that you are amazing! You mean the world to someone! Happy Mother's Day!
