German first grade sex ed book...way to graphic!

 

One surefire way to tick off parents is to show their five-year-olds an illustration of a woman applying a condom to a man's erect penis.

That didn't stop one elementary school in Berlin, Germany, though. In fact -- they showed the kids an entire book of sexually explicit drawings.

"Where Do You Come From?" is a children's sex-education book that features "Lisa" and "Lars" in various stages of sexual intercourse and then childbirth.

The publisher, Loewe Verlag, decided to discontinue the book after parents complained about the racy content to the Berlin Senate, The Telegraph reported.

A spokesperson told the newspaper that the drawings and text were actually inappropriate for first graders.

Um, you think?

According to Spiegel Online, a German news website, the school originally ignored parents' complaints. Surprisingly, the book is still available at the school but is now "not accessible to the children."

DIRECTIONS:

How did you start in the modeling industry?
 
I dabbled in it off and on, & really just enjoyed having pictures taken for fun. I viewed it   more as a "do it now so you have them to look back on when you're older" kind of thing. I looked at photos from when I was younger and (erroneously) thought I was "soooo fat" & I would think, "Why the hell wasn't I taking photos then?!" I realized I was happier with my body & more confidant now than I had ever been, so why not document it? I really didn't intend to become a "model" as much as I wanted something to look back on later. I still don't quite understand how it happened, but somehow or another taking photos to boost my own confidence & build my personal time capsule so to speak turned into modeling. I became more & more passionate about it as women would tell me that I was inspiring them. I now see my adventures in the modeling world as a means of helping other women discover their own beauty. Hopefully I can expand some people's minds too! Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors as long as it is in your heart. Oh jeeez that sounds so cheesy...

Plan B

A federal judge ruling on Friday that the Food and Drug Administration has to lift age restrictions on emergency contraception has set up choices for pharmacists, consumers and theObama administration about whether this is the end of the controversy.

The ruling overturns a decision in 2011 by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius that barred over-the-counter sales of the controversial pill to girls under 17. Sebelius' decision itself had overruled an FDA recommendation to widen availability of the drug.

The pill, popularly known as "Plan B," typically works up to 72 hours after intercourse, and is distinct from the so-called "abortion pill."

Depending upon where you are in your cycle, Plan B or Plan B One-Step may work in one of these ways:

It may prevent or delay ovulation.

It may interfere with fertilization of an egg.

It is also possible that this type of emergency birth control prevents implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterus by altering its lining.

Plan B or Plan B One-Step is not the same as RU-486, which is an abortion pill. It does not cause a miscarriage or abortion. In other words, it does not stop development of a fetus once the fertilized egg implants in the uterus. So it will not work if you are already pregnant when you take it.

Potential side effects of Plan B or Plan B One-Step include:

nausea

abdominal pain

fatigue

headache

menstrual changes

dizziness

breast tenderness

vomiting

diarrhea

While I think that knowledge is power and young women should have the choice, I also feel it is imperative that you meet with your doctor prior to taking anything to discuss the long-term risks. I am also concerned that too many women will use this as their form of birth control rather than the emergency contraceptive it is meant to be.

Honey Girl Cocktail

Ingredients:

23 cup juice (guava)

23 cup pineapple juice

12 cup vodka

1 syrup

12 cup strawberries

 

Grand Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients:

4 orange flavored liqueur (shots, grand marnier)

4 tsps honey

4 strawberries (fresh, tops trimmed)

1 btl champagne (chilled)

4 champagne (special equipment: 4 chilled, flutes)

Beekeeper's Balm Cocktail

Ingredients:

6 tbsps honey

14 cup hot water (or very warm)

2 cups white rum

34 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed, strained)

1 cup lemon balm (leaves, loosely packed)

club soda (to top off, optional)

lemon (slices, for garnish)

Stoli Honey Bee

Ingredients:

12 oz honey

12 oz water

1 12 ozs stoli (vodka, brand preferred)

34 oz fresh lemon juice

twists (lemon, garnish)

Myfitnesspal

So this hump day I figured that I would share my new health tool. I have struggled with fibromyalgia for about two years now and my pain goes up and down. I am working on watching what I eat and staying active which is not an easy feat when you are not feeling well. However, it is true that the more you exercise the less pain you have.

This program gives you a calorie goal for the day, tracks what you eat, your water consumption and what exercise you do. You can update status on your weight, network with friends and ultimately be accountable for your day. There is even a really cool scan option that will pick up food details on store bought items. The best part of this program is it is easy to use!
