Is your work making you sick?

It seems that we spend more of our lives at work than anywhere else. Your bosses priorities become your priorities and with your other responsibilities something has to give. Usually what suffers most is you!



Let's look at the factors that make be causing you to be ill:

1. Co-Workers: Do you get along well with them? Do they tend to unleash their frustrations on you? Maybe they are negative and difficult to deal with. If possible communicate via email rather than directly to stay on point and remove this stress.

2. Unrealistic Workloads: Often employers have a high expectation of how much work you can complete in a short amount of time. Little do they know that this often leads to poor quality of work.

3. Unrealistic Deadlines: Along with large workloads some employers will give you a short deadline. Stressing over the lack of time and plethora of work - can cause you to become stressed and sick.

4. Complaining Management: Sometimes it is easier to agree rather than argue your point with your supervisor. After all they are the boss!

Now let's talk about what you can do to avoid or release the stress:

1. No Negativity: It is difficult not to get caught up in the gossip but talking negative about co-workers just lead to hostility in your working environment.

2. Take a break: It is good to remove yourself from the office when you are able. Take a walk and get some fresh air.

3. Vacation: If you are overwhelmed and can, take some time off! Getting away can re-energize your mind and body.

4. Remove the clutter: We all work and process differently but if you have extra documents hanging around - get rid of it! It can cause you to become overwhelmed.

5. Ergonomics: Since we are at the office most often it is important to make sure that your arrangement is comfortable and proper. Having your office ergonomically arranged will prevent carpel tunnel, back pain and neck pains.

6. Talk it out: Talking is very therapeutic. Find a friend or co-worker who can empathize and  clear the air.

7. Exercise: Not only will you maintain your health but it is a great way to relieve your stress from the day.

8. Leave it at work: It is difficult to separate but if you can turn it off when you come home from the day you will be able to unwind and come in refreshed the next day.

9. Get a new job: If you can't seem to rid yourself of the stresses causing you to be sick at work maybe you are not meant to be there. I know it is a difficult time to find a new job but your health should always be your top priority.

The Sparks Alive

Today is a very special day for me. On this day six years ago I married my best friend! He and I have been together for eleven years. What I can tell you from the years we have been together, is that it takes work and sometimes we are on different pages but at the end of the day, there is no other place I would want to be than laying next to him!

We are taking a hiatus from the daily grind and headed to the coast :) Keep the fires burning and everyday can be your honeymoon!

The Art of Kama Sutra

Kama Sutra is the racy sex manual stemming from ancient India. Kama, which is one of the three goals of Hindu life, means sensual pleasure and Sutra means a thread that hold things together. Let's discuss Birth Control!

Now my blog is not generally friendly for your teenagers to read but this one I encourage you to share. I want to go over various birth control methods available. I hope that this will start your discussions.

Let's start with the 100% effective plan which is abstinence. This is the truest way of not getting pregnant or contracting a virus however, I know many people will not take this option. In our teens we have hormones running wild. That along with peer-pressure makes abstinence a difficult plan however, try to make sure you are really ready before taking any action.

Now we will assume you are or will be becoming sexually active whether you are a teenager or an adult. Remember that this is an adult action and with it should come adult responsibilities. So why don't we talk about your options to prevent pregnancy.

Condoms - Condoms are available at most stores, our website and in your local clinic/Planned Parenthood. They are the only method to prevent the spread of STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). For that sheer fact I recommend that you use a condom no matter what other birth control methods you use. I also think it is imperative to have another method in place as well because if the condom happens to break you risk pregnancy. You should also seek direction on how to properly use a condom to reduce the risk of a mishap. Female condoms are also a form of this method.

The Pill - There are many different options when it comes to the pill. Some can clear up acne or regulate periods. Some reduce or stop your period entirely. This method could be effective if you are able to be consistent. If you can't remember to take your vitamins daily then this probably isn't the best plan for you. You must take it everyday and it is recommended that you take it at the same time each day as well.

Depo-Provera - This method is in the form of a shot administered in your doctors office or clinic every three months. The plus to this is it is easy to maintain and does not require you to do anything in between the shots. The down side is that not many people enjoy shots and this is not licked on by kittens (real needle required). The other issue that some women have with this form of birth control is that they gain weight.

Implanon - This is a match stick sized rod that is inserted in the upper inner part of your arm. I used this method at one point (when they inserted five, not one) and I was able to get it inserted on a lunch break and it lasted for several years. Some women gain weight or have a lot of pain where the rod is inserted. I had a large bruise for a few days but nothing major. I will say when it was time for it to be removed it was more uncomfortable because your tissue grows over it.

The Patch - The patch is like a band-aide that you place above your buttocks or on your pelvic bone. They last for a week and then it needs to be replaced. A girlfriend of mine uses and loves this method. It is fairly easy to maintain but could come off so you will need to ensure it is placed well.

The Sponge - To use the sponge you add water, squeeze it and insert into the vagina. It is good for a full twenty four hours, has spermicide to prevent pregnancy, no hormones and no prescription. If you are not comfortable with touching your parts this method may not be right for you though I think it is important for you know your body. In addition it could cause irritation or dryness to your vaginal area.

NuvaRing - This product is similar to the sponge with it needing to be inserted in your vagina. Like the patch this method lasts for a week per ring and then needs to be replaced. My experience with this product caused me irritation but may be right for you.

Cervical Cap - This product must be used with a spermicide and is also inserted to cover your cervix like the sponge. It must stay inside for six hours after sex and needs to stay in place but you risk pushing it out of place with heavy thrusts or larger male genitalia. Once removed you need to clean and dry cervical cap for later use.

The Diaphragm - This method is virtually the same as the cervical cap with insertion, requiring spermicide, staying in place for six hours, risk of it moving and how to care for it after sex. However, this method can be used during menstruation as the cervical cap cannot.

IUD - This is a t-shaped devise that is inserted into the uterus. This is a great method if you decide to have children in the course of it's use as it can be removed at any time. It is inserted in a visit to your doctor and then the only maintenance you have is to check the string at the bottom of the t every so often. Some women love this device but it was painful and caused heavier bleeding for me. Also sometimes men feel the string and the only way to describe the string is it feels like fishing string.

Permanent Sterilization - This option is generally only available if you are older, have had children or you have decided not to have kids. It is done by minor surgery and has no maintenance but does have recovery.

The Morning After Pill - This is an emergency contraceptive that should only be used if your birth control fails. It can be purchased over the counter and will not abort a fetus.

The worst for last, The Pull Out Method - This is often the chosen form of birth control as well as the most failed form. It is where the male removes his penis prior to his release. It is very difficult to determine that stage for most men and if he releases prematurely it has failed. NOT RECOMMENDED!

I hope I have given you some things to think about and to discuss. Be sure to talk to your doctor and even if "she" is on the pill, use a condom. Teen parenting is very difficult but it is the better outcome of unprotected sex!

Does size matter?

Every male with a large member thinks that he has the tool that all the ladies want. Though size does matter to a degree, knowing how to use it is more important!

It is in my opinion and only by my experiences that I believe that some (not all) men who are very well endowed can be a bit selfish in the sack. They think that all they need to do is thrust and once they are done so are we.

Truly the most thrilling man knows how to satisfy their woman and takes pride in accomplishing this task. Women like foreplay and lots of it. I could go as far as saying that on occasion we are content staying in foreplay the whole night through. Again, in my experience, dare I say that there is another muscle that can bring to climax more often! The almighty tongue is one of the most amazing parts of the body!

Now don't get me wrong, girth is great but if your mini becomes the extension of your ego then keep walking! The plain and simple fact is that slow and steady always wins the race! So guys find out what she likes regardless of your size and if you perfect that skill your rewards will come and come again!

Depression and your sex life

I am among the many Americans who suffer from depression and anxiety. Statistics show that 14.8 million Americans over the age of 18 suffer from these conditions each year. Though depression does affect both males and females, it is more common in females. It is also among the highest disabilities in our country.

So why am I sharing this with you? It is important that if you have depression or anxiety, that you know that you are not alone! Likewise, if your partner suffers from these conditions, you get a better understanding of their condition.

One of the major problems with a couple where one (or both) are suffering from depression is the sexual relationship. The brain is a sensitive sexual organ that sends pleasure to your sensual areas. When you suffer from depression there is a chemical imbalance that does not always allow the signal from your brain to reach those parts. Besides the depressions affects, the medications used to treat your depression is very much a sex drive killer. Antidepressants help boost mood in people with depression by altering the balance of brain chemicals. But the same chemicals are involved in the sexual response. Antidepressants change that balance too, often causing sexual dysfunction. The sexual side effects of antidepressants appear to increase as the dose of medication increases.

There are many newer forms of antidepressants that may not affect your sex drive quite as much so it is imperative that you discuss your issues with both your partner and your doctor. Your doctors cannot assist you with your problem if they are unaware that it exists.

It is important for you to find the happy in life so try to get out for a walk daily and find things to appreciate such as the flowers in the fields. Medication can also alter your relationship with food so try and eat five fruits and vegetables a day to maintain health. Don't completely disconnect from your partner but do inform them of your mood/desires or lack of. Also beware of your alcohol intake as it closely affects your depression.

Partners, try to intimate in other ways, such as hold hands and cuddle. Know that even though there are days that you will feel that your partner is not interested in you, it is the illness that is causing this affect. Go for walks with your partner. Promoting healthy outlets will help lift their spirits as well as allow you to reconnect along the way.

Though depression and illnesses causing depression will be a lifelong battle, there are ways to feel well and healthy again. Many people have these problems and live a productive life. Stay strong and know you are loved!

Oh my.......Christian Grey


While Christian may be too dominating for many women to handle. The man has amazing moves between the sheets, or on a table, or in a car (you get the point)!

The first key to his game is the foreplay. If you are not aware, the foreplay is incredibly important to arousing a woman. The last observation is negotiation and compromise. If you strip away all else this is a biggie in any relationship. Sometimes  you have to give a little to get a little in return. If you can negotiate terms that you both agree with then all aspects of your relationship will work more harmoniously!

Though this book has caused a contagious reaction in women to read and experiment, it may be worth the read for you men as well. We can all stand to learn some new moves!

5 Exercises Men Can Do For Better Sex



Move over, Viagra: Regular exercise could be the best medicine for a man to improve his sex life. The Benefits of Yoga for Men You know that working out is good for your health. But did you know that hitting the gym could also help you have better sex? “Working out three to four times a week can do a lot to help your sexual technique, flexibility, and endurance,” says Pete McCall, MS, an exercise physiologist and personal trainer for the American Council on Exercise (ACE). So what types of exercise are best for better sex? McCall recommends the following five “sex exercises.”

Better Sex Exercise No. 1: Weight Lifting 

Strength training could be just what the doctor ordered for your sex life. The reason: “Weight lifting causes the body to produce testosterone, which is the primary precursor for the male sex drive,” says McCall, who recommends lifting enough to feel fatigue by the 10th repetition. In fact, some studies have linked short intense exercise, such as weight lifting, with increased testosterone levels. To improve your sex life, do some push-ups, sit-ups, and crunches. These muscle-building exercises can help lead to better sex by strengthening the shoulders, chest, and abs. Strong upper body strength can increase stamina since these muscles are used during intercourse.

Better Sex Exercise No. 2: Kegels

Doing Kegels is considered a good sex exercise for men because these exercises can help endurance and control by toning the pubococcygeus (PC) muscles — the ones that let you stop the flow of urine mid-stream. Named after Los Angeles physician Arnold Kegel, they strengthen the muscles in your body’s pelvic floor, which can lead to better sex. “Men can use Kegels to delay ejaculation by contracting these muscles just before orgasm,” says McCall. To do Kegels, start by interrupting the flow of urine when going to the bathroom to get familiar with your PC muscles. After that, you can do Kegels anytime and any place by squeezing the PC muscles. Hold for 10 seconds, relax, and do as many reps as you can before tiring.

Better Sex Exercise No. 3: Yoga 

Want to shake up your sex life with some new positions? Practicing yoga will give you better sex by allowing your body to get into creative positions for maximum pleasure during intercourse. “Yoga will help your flexibility,” which can result in better sex, McCall says. Some experts say it can also improve your stamina in the sack by drawing your energy in and up. McCall recommends yoga poses that improve pelvic muscles, such as the Bow Pose, Peacock Pose (also called the Forearm or Elbow Balance), and Shoulder Stand.

Better Sex Exercise No. 4: Fast Walking

In a study of 31,000 men over age 50, Harvard researchers found that aerobic exercise resulted in a 30-percent lower risk of erectile dysfunction (ED). More specifically, according to another study, aerobic activity that burns at least 200 calories per day (equal to fast walking for two miles) can significantly lower the risk of ED. Brisk walking is thought to help ED by improving circulation and blood flow. “Fast walking, running, and other aerobic activities help your sex life for the same reason that they prevent heart attacks,” says McCall. “They keep your blood vessels clear.” The result can be stronger and longer erections. Better Sex Exercise No. 5: Swimming 

In another Harvard study of 160 male and female swimmers, swimmers in their 60s reported sex lives comparable to those in their 40s. Since sexual activity can be an act of endurance, long-distance swimming can keep you going and going like the Energizer bunny. “Swimming for at least 30 minutes three times a week will increase sexual endurance,” says McCall. Swimming is also a great activity for weight loss, which can also lead to better sex. A randomized, single-blind study of 110 obese men with ED found that losing just 10 percent of their body weight improved sexual function in one third of the men. And it’s no secret that losing excess body fat will help attain those six-pack abs and make you more attractive to potential partners. The result: better sex! Try doing some (or all) of the above workouts to improve your sexual technique, endurance, and flexibility. Your mate will be impressed with your sexual powers and, as a side benefit, you’ll get healthier and fitter along the way.

10 Exercises for Better Sex

 Want to improve the quality of your sex life—or just have better luck getting in the mood? Start with fitness! Our experts share the moves they recommend most for ramping things up in the bedroom.

Squats
You already know this move as a terrific leg and butt toner, but did you know that it can also get the blood flowing to the places that may energize your libido? “Sometimes your heart might be there, but you don’t feel anything in the ‘southern hemisphere,’” explains Debbie Mandel, MA, a stress and fitness expert and the author of Addicted to Stress: A Woman’s 7-Step Program to Reclaim Joy and Spontaneity in Life. “Many women need a little physical help with arousal to get blood flowing to the genitalia.” She suggests squats. With your feet spread shoulder-width apart, “make sure your heels stay on the floor as you ‘sit’ on an imaginary chair,” she explains. “The lower you squat, the more you recruit your glutes and reap the benefits. Push off from your heels and hold your abdominals in tightly [as you return to standing position].” Do them slowly, aiming for 15 to 30 reps.

Happy Baby Pose
Limberness goes hand in hand with great sex—after all, who wants to deal with aching legs or a stiff lower back while in the heat of the moment? That’s why Marta Montenegro, MF, MS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, a fitness expert and the creator of the fitness DVD series Montenegro Method, suggests certain stretches to prepare you for agility between the sheets. “One of the most common reasons for lower back pain is tight hamstrings and hip flexors,” she says. “Also, after spending eight hours asleep, there is a natural inflammation of the spinal discs due to the increase of the homeostatic pressure.”

The happy baby pose to the rescue! “It will stretch the spine while loosening up the adductor muscles and the hamstrings, which are heavily compromised in traditional positions such as the missionary,” she says. Lie on your back with your knees bent toward your chest. Grasp the outside of each foot with your hands, allowing the knees to drop down toward the floor. Align your ankles with your knees so that the shins are perpendicular to the floor. Apply downward pressure with your hands to encourage deeper opening. You can allow the tailbone to curl up off the floor slightly to decompress the lower back. Hold the pose for three to five minutes.

Pelvic Tilts
Want a move that will strengthen the muscles you use most during intercourse? Try the pelvic tilt. “Women tend to suffer from lower back pain, and this sometimes affects sexual positions as well as desire,” says Mandel. “Pelvic tilts give you a bonus of core strength and strengthening the lower back.” Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, shoulder-width apart. Raise your pelvic region in a straight line like a bridge. Hold your abdominals in while you tighten your glutes and push your inner thighs toward each other. Slowly lower to the floor and repeat, 20 to 25 reps, if possible.

Biceps Curls
How can you get toned, gorgeous arms and also boost your sex drive? Grab your hand weights and work in 15 to 20 reps of biceps curls! Here’s why: “Medical studies show that testosterone plays a role in sexual drive in both men and women,” explains Mandel. “Giving a woman with low libido testosterone is controversial, and could lead to undesirable side effects,” she says. “However, strength training increases levels naturally and is healthy too. The testosterone levels that are generated create the tipping point for desire.” And don’t worry—weightlifting is not going to give you facial hair or a lower voice. The testosterone that’s released is at healthy, natural levels.

Tandem Stationary Lunges
Past research has indicated that couples who exercise together have better sex. So why not do a few moves with your guy? Mandel suggests the tandem lunge. “A romantic variation of the traditional stationary lunge: Hold your partner’s left hand with your right [as you stand next to each other] and together do five lunges, with the same legs forward so that you don’t bump into each other.” Need a stationary lunge primer? With one leg forward and one leg back, slowly bend the knees as if you’re trying to kneel down and touch one knee to the ground (but don’t let it touch), keeping both knees at 90-degree angles. Aim for two sets of five repetitions on each side—gradually increasing to 10.
When it comes to fitness, Kegels count too! These pelvic-floor-strengthening exercises that your ob-gyn is always encouraging you to do can have big payoffs when it comes to sexual satisfaction, says Tone It Up cofounder Karena Dawn, a certified personal trainer in Los Angeles. “Kegels consist of contracting and relaxing the muscles in your pelvic floor,” she explains. “Improving the strength of these vaginal muscles is beneficial for greater sexual satisfaction and stronger orgasms, as well as preventing urinary or bowel incontinence and pelvic prolapse in women.” To do a proper Kegel, tighten your pelvic muscles (the ones that control the start and stop of urine). Hold for about 5 seconds, relax and then repeat. Dawn recommends doing Kegels for at least 5 minutes every day. (Psst! You can do them anywhere—even right now—and no one will know but you!)

Ab Rolls
The core is compromised of more than 20 muscles, and working them “will give you the strength to support your man’s weight without hyperextending your back,” says Montenegro. “A great exercise that works both the core and the muscles of the upper body is the roll-in, roll-out on a stability ball.” Start with your hands fully extended on the floor in a push-up-like position. Place your shins on a stability ball, keeping your back straight. Roll the ball in toward your chest and back out, using the abdominals to drag your knees toward your chest and to push your feet back out. Keep your back flat and hips tight, and don’t move your upper body. Do three sets of 10 reps.

Bridge Pose
Another yoga pose that can improve your sexual enjoyment is the bridge pose. “This exercise helps strengthen the lower back, gluteus muscles and hamstrings,” says Dr. Castellanos. “It helps enhance a woman's sexual experience because it increases her strength and endurance in these muscles, which are used to create resistance during a man's thrusting, thereby increasing the intensity of the thrust.” Start out lying flat on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Lay your arms to the side of your body, lift your hips up in the air and squeeze your gluteus muscles. Continue to press upward until just your upper back/shoulders, arms and feet are touching the floor. Shame


Though in this day and age people are much more accepting and in touch with their sexuality, people still feel shame when it comes to being open about what they like. An example of this shame is the fact that we have a Facebook Fan page and are often messaged from people wanting details on our store but do not want to associate with the fan page. They are afraid of what others might think of them.

Though we are stronger we still concern ourselves with others opinions of us. This often limits our dreams to what we feel is socially acceptable. When you bring that beautiful baby home you do not realize how much your life is going to change. Cougars

A Staycation!

In today's economy it is difficult to get away from the hustle and bustle. We have overly complicated our lives spending the majority of our lives working. We overbook our days with commitments and very rarely enjoy our plans.

I feel pretty!

Safety First



Sex is not always a topic of conversation in a household but it really should be. Education is key to your child making good decisions in any part of their life. Sex should not be the exception to this rule! Your kids will get their lessons from their friends if you don't discuss it with them first. That is how stories of getting pregnant from the toilet seat are born!

I understand this may not be a comfortable topic for either of you but it is very important! There is no rule of thumb as to when it is best to have this discussion but statistics show that children are becoming active earlier and earlier.

Talk to your children about taking precautions in order not to get pregnant and also how to prevent an STD. It is also imperative that you talk about the facts that oral relations can also put them at risk of getting an STD.  Talk about birth control options, show them how to use condoms and that they should ALWAYS use condoms. Be sure to teach both your boys and your girls how to properly use a condom. And make sure to always leave the line of communications with them.

And the very last important advice, listen to them without getting angry or upset. You want your children to always feel that they can talk to you...even if they don't always!
